Ariv Foundation is a company incorporated to open technology, education, and skill-building to people of every background.
Ariv Foundation is the public name of a company incorporated to carry out charitable objects in technology and education. The Tamil word அறிவு (ariv) means knowledge. The objects below are how that knowledge is meant to travel: not as a privilege of background, but as tools, curricula, places to practise, and rooms where people meet.
Objects of the company
These are the main objects of the company after incorporation. The wording is the company’s. The sentence above each quotation is a plain-language reading of it.
Equal opportunity
Access to technology, education, and the resources to build a skill is the purpose of the foundation, and it is not meant to depend on where a person starts.
To promote equal opportunity for all individuals, irrespective of social or economic background, by enabling access to technology, education, and skill-development resources.
Open technology
Technology becomes public when the platforms, the communities, and the events around them are open to people who are not already inside the field. DevCarnival and an Open Source Lab are named as part of this object, not as the whole of it.
To make technology accessible to the masses by building, maintaining, and promoting open-source software platforms, developer communities, and technology events — including but not limited to initiatives such as “DevCarnival” and an Open Source Lab — that enable individuals from all backgrounds to learn, contribute to, and benefit from technology.
Affordable learning
Study material should be something a student can afford. The company develops, publishes, and distributes free or low-cost digital and gamified content, including school curricula and computer science engineering resources.
To make education affordable and accessible by developing, publishing, and distributing free or low-cost digital and gamified educational content, including the “TN eBooks” project for gamifying Standard XI and XII school curricula, and computer science engineering (CSE) study notes and resources.
Academic collaboration
Universities, colleges, and other educational bodies are partners in the objects, not an audience for them.
To collaborate with universities, academic institutions, and other educational bodies for the advancement of education, research, and technology skill-building.
Training and vocation
The company may run training centres of its own, and it may gather a consortium of institutions and individuals who teach. Both forms serve the same purpose: technical education, vocational training, and professional skill.

Public media
Work done in a lab, a classroom, or a workshop has to reach people who cannot be in the room. Digital media, including YouTube, is part of the objects.
To produce and disseminate educational and awareness content through digital media, including YouTube channels and other online platforms, in furtherance of the Company’s objects.
Gatherings
Conferences, seminars, and workshops advance the same mission. A reasonable ticket price may raise resources for the charitable objects. It does not replace the duty of access, and it stays subject to applicable law.
To organize, conduct, and manage conferences, seminars, workshops, and similar events for the advancement of technology and education, and to generate resources for the Company’s charitable objects through reasonable conference ticket sales, subject to applicable law.
How to read them together
The first object is the test for the other six. An open-source lab, a gamified textbook, a training centre, a video, or a conference belongs to Ariv when someone outside a well-resourced classroom can learn from it, contribute to it, or teach with it.
The named initiatives — DevCarnival , the Open Source Lab , and TN eBooks — sit inside that test, along with CSE notes , training , public media , and gatherings . Institutions that want to take part can start with collaboration .
